Pregant Woman for Eclampsia Simulation
Tasked to model a pregnant woman for an upcoming simulation. A great opportunity to use more zbrush! She’s coming along nicely. In the picture I just subdivided so some parts are a little dough-y.

Zbrush Nurse Head
A head that I sculpted in Zbrush for use in the Unity Engine. She’s the one you see in the OR Screen Grabs in the “work” tab.

In game screen grabs of a couple of things:
Texture sizes are DDS @ 512 or less, the only piece that has a different size is the ceiling panel @ 512 X 1024. We don’t make normal maps at the request of the designer.
I’m taking a Zbrush Class
Yup, via CG Society. The instructor is Katon Callaway who has worked on bunches of games. I’m very excited to take this class. Though I am not a noobie at Zbrush I think I can definitely benefit from an instructor that can answer all of my burning questions. Here’s the character I’m going to make:
Art By Bjorn Hurri
I chose this guy because it looks like so much fun to model. Considering that this will be an 8 week course I need to model something that will keep me interested. Base meshes are due this week, will post WIPs soon.
Bassinet Baby!
Prop for an Eclampsia simulation that is currently in development. I Rendered out an ambient occlusion map in max, then added to the shadows and highlights in photoshop/body paint to give more depth. Everything is hand painted minus the wood grain. The basket will have a transparent shader with cubemap reflections, and the metal will have an anisotropic shader.
Render Mode: Bodypaint’s Constant Shading

That sink…
Here’s that sink I was talking about. Rendered out an ambient occlusion map in max, then added to the shadows and highlights in photoshop/body paint to give more depth. Used two textures as overlays for the counter and sides everything else is hand painted.

Portfolio Site is UP
It has been awhile since I’ve updated my portfolio website. I have to say I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out, and I learned some PHP along the way. Though I do have separate sites for my photography and my professional work, I really wanted to integrate the two and I think I’ve done that without the website being a hodgepodge of my work.
My professional work is kinda slim, not because I don’t have enough work, but because most of the work I’ve done are a lot of little props. I’d like to consolidate all the props into one location picture for viewing, besides who wants to see a full res picture of a cup? Now that I have the blog hooked up to the portfolio site I’ll post more work more often. At the moment I’m working on more props for environments at work, so you’ll see everything from syringes to the kitchen sink — literally.
I’m going to also start sharing great resources that I’ve found helpful for CG and Photography alike. Stay tuned!
Tom Brown for Ward 7
So, I took some pictures for council member candidate Tom Brown today. They’re supposed to be printed in the Washington Post
Requirements were a white background and a square crop. First-ish time doing studio photography.

Project 365
So I’ve kinda been in the photography slums lately, I haven’t really taken many pictures partly due to the fact that I don’t have too many subjects that are willing to really model at the drop of a hat. I started browsing the web and came across other photographer’s 365 projects. I was so inspired. You can really see the progression of growth from the first picture to the last which I thought was really neat. There’s no better teacher than practice, and if I want to get any better with this I really gotta start snapping away. With the umbrella of a 365 project, I won’t feel as pressured to come up with something amazing every time. All i need now is a model… I HATE taking pictures of myself but I’m the most accessible person so I guess I will have to bite the bullet and be in front of the camera sometimes u.u OY!
… I’ll start tomorrow. ![]()
BTW TOTALLY love Sarah Ann Loreth’s photostream:

Sexy Wyclef
So a friend of mine went to a Zumba convention some months ago. When she came back she brought a bunch of photos of her experience there. She had a blast, got to meet the CEO of Zumba Fitness and Wyclef — it was awesome. She told us all about there performances but when it came to Wyclef she just blushed and went on to say that he was so handsome and had a great body (this went on for days). SO, i took it upon myself to photoshop a sexy picture for her of Wyclef and superimposed the autograph he gave her onto it. I had an 8X10 printed for her and framed and gave it to her as a gift. She LOVED IT! Makes me feel all warm inside knowing my photoshop skills could make someone happy.

I don’t own either of the two pictures I used to create this photomanip, it was for personal use only.
